Of all the books that I have yet to read at home, this is the oldest, 2 years quietly. I bought it because I had not seen the movie (just a bit) and because a friend read it then and liked it, and I usually share the tastes etc smartfade of my friends. etc smartfade
This is the first western I read Me (Dark Tower belong more to the fantasy genre) and I liked it. The protagonist is a 14 year old girl named Mattie, whose father has been murdered by the coward Tom Chaney, who has stolen the horse and the money he had on him. So Mattie hires Rooster etc smartfade Cogburn, a one-eyed, violent and implacable commissioner to hunt. The LaBoeuf marshall them, which also seeks Chaney for another murder committed in another state and the three deep into Indian territory on the trail of Chaney joins.
The book is very good and easy to read. The character etc smartfade of Mattie loved. Despite his 14 years, behaves in all seriousness of an adult and no remains committed to bring Chaney to justice and take back what he stole from his father. What I did not expect the twist at the end. Honestly, I was surprised. I think it could well be avoided. The only downside is that it is so short.
