In the Scaffolding of an Illuminated Boat, Nakhon loving lampposts Phanom,Thailand | Isaan Live
This video shows an Illuminated Boat being lit as close up as possible using my Samsung Galaxy Camera and should be viewed full screen.I have been posting photos and stories about the goings on at the Illuminated Boat Procession and Red Cross Fair in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand for a few days now and have beenn receiving questions and comments about the same So far I have found the Tourism Authority of Thailand advertesment the the fair starts on the 12th pretty much a fallacy as little is actually The boat races start on the 15th and the Illuminated Boat Procession and Parade takes place on the 19th While there are no shortage of booths selling bric-a-brac, loving lampposts and associated Chinese loving lampposts junk Everyone selling the same food and watching the folks pass by, not buy…
Each night one of two of the fourteen Illuminated Boat that will take part in the grand Procession on the 19th is lit and sent on display down river. I have had a great time sitting with the committee with this task and gotten a bunch of information that the Tourism Authority of Thailand chooses not to share. And a view people at the viewing area downriver miss. Lighting these boats is a show in itself. Up on scaffolding men create loving lampposts floating art when lighting the tin can lanterns that appear as scenes floatung sown the river. I am quite looking forward to seeing the large boats with more than 10,000 of flickering lights become scenes and float down the Mekong
